Is this a team or solo competition?
This is a 1 person team challenge. Every participant competes individually — no teams, no carrying. Just you and your strategy.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. There are many different ways to build your strategy and trade. You can use our API, MetaTrader 5, or a conversational chat interface. Coding skills are not required.
Where can I ask questions or get help?
Join our Discord server to connect with other participants, ask questions, and get support from the organising team and mentors throughout the competition.

Terms & Conditions
Photography & Recording
By attending this event (the “Event”), you acknowledge that photography and video recording may take place. Your image and likeness (“Image Personal Data”) may be captured and used by Dawn Capital LLP (“Dawn” or “we”), our affiliates, Event organisers, service providers, and sponsors for legitimate business purposes, including promotional materials. Dawn processes your Image Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have questions about how we handle your Image Personal Data or prefer not to be photographed or recorded, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com before the Event.
Marketing Personal Data
You acknowledge that your personal data submitted as part of your hackathon application (including your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, university and / or company name, related websites, submitted projects, and participation data such as scoring results) (“Marketing Personal Data”) may be used for direct marketing purposes by Dawn. Dawn processes your Marketing Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have any questions about how your Marketing Personal Data is being used or if you prefer that we do not use your Marketing Personal Data for direct marketing purposes, either for this Event or for any following events, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com.
Talent Personal Data
Please note that Dawn may collect and process your personal data submitted as part of your hackathon application, including your name, email address, and LinkedIn profile, and other materials that you provide, such as projects that you submit through your application or during the hackathon competition. Additionally, we may collect and process data relating to your participation in the competition, including any scoring or evaluation results (“Talent Personal Data”). Dawn may share your Talent Personal Data with Dawn’s current portfolio companies, prospective portfolio companies and the Event sponsors for the purpose of presenting them with a potential talent pool. Some of these recipients may be located in countries outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, including the United States of America; any such international transfer will be subject to appropriate safeguards, including an international data transfer agreement or equivalent mechanism. Your Talent Personal Data is collected, processed and shared in accordance with our privacy notice which you can find on our website. If you have any questions relating to the collection, processing or sharing of your Talent Personal Data, or if you object to this processing, please contact Gamila Hassan at gamila@dawncapital.com.
Administration Personal Data
Dawn may collect and process your personal data, including, but not limited to, your name and contact details, for legitimate business purposes, including to administer the Event (“Administration Personal Data”). We may also share your Administration Personal Data with third parties such as printing companies or API credit providers that process your Administration Personal Data on our behalf and only for the purposes related to the Event. Dawn processes your Administration Personal Data in accordance with our privacy notice, available on our website. If you have questions about how your Administration Personal Data is handled, please contact us at notices@dawncapital.com before the Event.
Liability & Indemnity
By attending this Event, you agree to assume all of the risks pertaining to and / or associated with the Event, and, to the full extent permitted by applicable law, you agree (i) to waive, release, and discharge Dawn, its affiliated entities and any external organisers, service providers and / or sponsors (as applicable to the Event), from any and all liability for negligent property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which may hereafter accrue to you, and (ii) to indemnify and hold harmless any of the aforementioned against any and all loss, liabilities or claims made by any other individuals or entities as a result of your actions at the Event.
Prizes
Prizes awarded in connection with this Event are provided solely by the relevant sponsor(s) of the Event (each a “Prize Provider”). Dawn has no involvement in the selection, sourcing, fulfilment, or delivery of any such prizes and accepts no liability whatsoever in connection with them, including in respect of any failure to deliver, defect, loss, damage, or dispute arising out of or in connection with a prize. All queries and claims relating to prizes must be directed to the relevant Prize Provider. By participating in the hackathon competition, you acknowledge and agree that your sole recourse in relation to any prize lies against the applicable Prize Provider. Prize payment(s) may be subject to identity verification, eligibility checks, tax information, and compliance review. Non-cash prize(s) may be substituted at the Prize Provider’s discretion if necessary.
Intellectual Property
Any intellectual property rights in any outputs created, developed, or delivered in connection with this Event (including, without limitation, prototypes, code, designs, documentation, data, and data-generated outputs) will remain the property of the relevant participants and/or participating teams and will not transfer or be assigned to Dawn, or to any co-organiser or sponsor.
Simulated Trading Environment
The Event competition is conducted in a simulated / paper trading environment. No real-money trading is executed, and nothing in the Event constitutes investment advice, brokerage services, or a financial promotion. Market prices and liquidity conditions may be derived from real market data and / or live liquidity sources. However, all participant trading activity remains simulated for the Event competition purposes.
Competition Rules
Detailed Event competition rules, including eligible instruments, trading hours, scoring methodology, risk limits, elimination rounds, permitted strategies, and disqualification criteria, will be published separately and will govern the Event competition.
Prohibited Conduct
Participants must not exploit system bugs, manipulate latency, abuse APIs, overload infrastructure, interfere with other participants, or attempt unauthorised access. Any such conduct may result in disqualification.
Permitted Strategies
Participants may use quantitative, AI-assisted, discretionary, or hybrid strategies, provided they comply with the Event competition rules, API usage limits, and applicable laws.
Review & Disqualification
The Event organiser(s) and relevant sponsor(s) reserve the right to review trading activity, adjust rankings, withhold prizes, or disqualify participants in cases of suspected abuse, rule breach, data error, technical malfunction, or abnormal trading behaviour.
Competition Modifications
The Event organiser(s) and relevant sponsor(s) may pause, suspend, extend, or modify the competition in the event of system issues, market data disruption, abnormal market conditions, infrastructure failure, or other operational reasons.
Historical Data
Historical data may be provided for backtesting and preparation purposes only. The Event organiser(s) and relevant sponsor(s) do not guarantee that such data is complete, error-free, or predictive of future market conditions.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
